I'm back!
There's just not enough hours in the day I'm beginning to realize...and time doesn't stand still, even if I want it to.
I wish I could freeze time sometimes, especially during this phase of life (as hard as it is). 6-12 months is my favorite and this little girl is making me remember just that each day.
She's 7 months and 9 days old to be exact.
A ball full of sunshine.
Not to mention she's my most chunky baby yet. At her 6 month appointment (which she had the day before she turned 7 months), she weighed in at 18.1 pounds and 271/4 inches long. To put that into perspective, Savannah weighed 21 pounds at 18 months...so she's just 3 pounds shy of that a year under. She's wearing 9-12 month clothing.
She's usually a happy little thing, only getting fussy when hungry or tired. I feel like that's pretty typical at this age though.
She's doing better at night and last night slept her longest cycle yet! I put her down at 7:30 p.m. and she slept until 6:50 a.m. Believe me, for my kids this is big time. All three of mine wake before the rooster crows...or that's what it feels like. You can guarantee mine will be up between 6:30-7 every single morning.
She eats baby food two times a day, at morning and at night. It took her one whole month to actually get the concept of spoon feeding but she's in the beginning stages of mastering the skill ever so nicely. I'm usually holding her at dinner time and she's always reaching for my plate of food...makes me wonder if she'll be ready for table food faster than my other two.
She's beginning to show some personality. Sometimes when I take something away from her that she's holding, the temper starts to show itself.
She still loves the jumparoo and her activity mat...for short periods of time. She doesn't like when I (or her siblings) leave the room and she's found all alone.
Although she does have a love/hate relationship with her big sister, and who can blame her really. If I saw that girl coming when I was 7 months old, I'd be scared for my life too...
Savannah claims she's only trying to help...
And sometimes her cuddles can look super sweet...
But they usually end up with big sister's body on top of hers.
She'll soon grow to appreciate her (or protect herself) I'm sure of it!
A third child definitely creates more chaos, but I'm beginning to realize it's mostly fun chaos. Life is getting easier and harder all at the same time.:) Or maybe I'm just coming to grips with my "new normal."
We are spending most of our days outside in the beautiful sunshine and warmer weather. Our back yard has plenty of shade, which will be helpful come summertime I'm sure. Isaac and Savannah could live outside all day long if you would let them.
These two love to play together and Savannah adores her big brother.
And he adores her (unless she's touching his train set).
You can find them playing most afternoons in their home away from home.
It's rotting in a few places, but nothing daddy can't fix soon.
If you're in the market for a good cup of mud soup, stop on by.
Last but not least, Isaac had his last day of school last Wednesday. I think it's safe to say we were all sad to see this school year go. I could not have asked for a better teacher and he loved Ms. Fuqua from the very beginning. It made our transition here to Fairhope, and to a new school, so much easier. I cried when we said our goodbye's...and I'm not a cryer folks.
As always, it's amazing to see how much they've grown over the fall and spring.
My baby has one more year until Kindergarten. (sniff, sniff)
One thing I know for sure. The person who stated, "The days are long and the years are short" was very very right...
