More Easter

Before time gets away from me here are a few more pictures of our Easter Sunday.
We enjoyed church at our church in Birmingham then drove to Sylacauga for lunch with Steven's family.  This year my family decided to join and we were so glad they did!  Well, when I say "my family," I mean Mom, Dad, and sister Camille.  The rest were spread out across the states.

The kids enjoying their Easter basket.  Isaac was so proud of his cute new Thumper bunny.  He's been watching Bambi A LOT these days (why I don't know, because that movie can make me fall asleep super fast) but he loves it.

Pictures after lunch...

Why is one simple family pictures just so hard!?

Kelly, Ryan, and their boys

The Grandfather's and Grandmother's with our kiddos..

If only Savannah was looking at the camera--would have been a cute one.

Brian, Steven's cousin, loves to take pictures with pretty girls.  He calls them his "babe." :)

And onto egg hunting...

And that's about it.  We had a great day!

I'm kind of impressed with myself to provide so many blog postings in a short period of time.  So unlike me.  Maybe I'm feeling better now that I'm almost to the second trimester.  Oh let's hope.

10 months

Well, this post is a tad late.  Nine days to be exact...but who's counting really.

This little girl is 10 months old, which means two months until the big 1st birthday.  Say what!!?

She continues to be such a joy in our house--constantly smiling, adventurous, and all around good natured.

The other night she was taking a bath and she kept leaning over and dunking her entire head in the water.  Isaac would have never done something like this--he's scared of anything new.  I made her stop after the eighth time when she swallowed the water and starting choking.

One thing is for sure--she ADORES big brother.
He can constantly make her laugh by the silly faces he makes and if he is playing nearby he is the first person she wants to crawl to and play with.

She crawls with lighting speed.  So much so that if I turn my back for 5 seconds she could literally be out of the living room onto somewhere else.

She's a tough cookie.  Not only does Isaac rough her up at times (accidentally(or not) hitting her with a throwing ball or running into her, etc.) but just yesterday we left the back door open for a second while Steven and I were watching the Master's and before we knew it Savannah was crying and had crawled out of the door (with a little drop off) and scraped her poor face pretty good on the outdoor rug.  She only cried for maybe 30 seconds.

She eats pretty much any type of baby food you throw at her.  However, getting her to eat table food has been a different story.  I know I did this already with Isaac but any advice would be helpful.  She does eat cheerios and puffs but likes to gag if I try to feed her anything else with chunks.

She has two bottom teeth and four on top.

We love our little girl so much and are so thankful for her life.

Happy Easter

Happy Easter from our family to yours.

We are thankful we celebrate a risen Savior.  And not just today, but EVERYDAY.  Hallelujah!

And then there were THREE

I feel as though I need to interrupt my travel/Africa postings with an important announcement.

Oh, and it's a doozy.
Well, it was for me anyway.  And I can think of about ten other words besides doozy that I could use, but won't.

Well here we go folks, I suppose it's time.

Yep, that about sums it up.

We are expecting #3 to our family, due in October.  To say we were shocked would be an understatement but I am warming up to the idea and getting more excited.  I will admit it was a bit overwhelming to take in as I feel as though I just gave birth to Savannah.  And why do I feel that way? Because I just did! ;) We found out a few days before Steven left for Africa so that was some big news to take in before he left us for a month.

We are thankful that God is in control of our lives though and that it is He who ultimately chooses when (and when not to) give someone a baby.  It was definitely not planned by us although we always knew we wanted more kiddos in the mix as the Lord willed.  We struggled to get pregnant with Isaac so I know the pain of longing for a baby--I'm trying to be as thankful as possible.  And we are thankful for this blessing I assure you.  Just taken off guard that's all.

This baby and Savannah will be 16 months apart so very close in age--and we hope very close in friendship as well.

I'm feeling pretty good and thankfully not too sick.  My sick time usually comes in the evenings but I am 12 weeks now and hopefully will see that ending soon.

We are excited for the many changes this year and always thankful the Lord knows best.  I keep telling myself that verse that says something like "A man plans his future but the Lord directs his path."  Something like that anyway.

So there you have it folks.
Thought I should get the news out there as I'm already showing these days.  That's the great thing about the 3rd--you get a nice baby bump/gut super early.:)

While Daddy was away...

...we kept ourselves quite busy.
I didn't enjoy the thought of always being gone from my house for a month but I knew I would go crazy if I didn't leave some.  Plus, I appreciated the help!

The first week we went to Auburn to visit my family, like I originally posted.  As I recall (with a shudder), I had a horrible sinus infection that just wouldn't go away and Steven had just left us two days earlier.  My dad actually went on the trip too but only for 10 days, so I went to keep Mom company and for help with my cold.  My thoughts at this point was that the month of March was going to be super long.

Steven traveled to Kenya with one of his residency friends, Andrew, and the guys decided to make a long layover in London on their way to Africa.  So while we were visiting family that weekend, here's what Daddy and Andrew were doing...

Austin Powers anyone?

After my parent's house we stayed in Birmingham for almost a week while Isaac went to Mother's Day out and I tried to get over my cold.

So while we were doing this...

Daddy was doing this...

If I knew all my blogger friends had a stomach of steel, I would show you more pictures of the cases he saw in the Casualty unit.  But alas, you might puke everywhere.  Trust me.

At the end of the week we traveled to my grandmother's house in Mississippi.  The very same house in which I had my first tornado experience.  Remember that anyone?  Well you can bet I certainly do.
Luckily this time the tornado was replaced with gorgeous 80 degree weather.  It was perfect!
We even got to see my sister Carla that week and nephew Owen--I was so glad because I had missed my trip to see them in Pasadena earlier due to my sickness.
I was joined at Meme's house by my mother and her two sisters, Debbie and Linda.  It was such a treat spending time with all of them and we really had a blast.  Poor Isaac received major estrogen overload during that week.

I love this picture of Meme and Savannah.

Isaac enjoyed playing in the yard as always.

We went out to eat one night with my Uncle who also lives in the Jackson area.  So Meme and all her children were together again...

Isaac loved silly Uncle Richard and was happy to have a few minutes of guy time for a change.

We enjoyed a beautiful day at the park one morning.  The very same one my grandfather took us to when we were little.
Isaac always loves a park.  Especially one that has a wooden train to play on and located right by a train track.

Watching a train go by..

Savannah enjoyed the park as much as brother

But would much rather chew on the swing

Okay folks, I'll have to finish these pictures at another time.
The night is getting late and the bed is calling my name.  Plus I'm tired of looking through pictures. :)
I'll be back again with more.  Plenty more.
