I thought I would start with the Iron Bowl pictures first seeing as they were the first ones to edit and download the fastest. The game didn't start until two thirty that afternoon so we enjoyed a morning of tailgating before hand. My parent's tailgating spot is in a prime location located right beside the stadium. Plus, ESPN's College Game Day was just steps from their tent so that was an added bonus.
Of course Savannah insisted she wear her elephant dress for the happy ocassion...
Somebody should have warned me about smocked bishops! My pocket book is going to be struggling these next few years.
Little buddy left his smocking at home and wore his jersey instead. And let me tell you, Isaac was in rare form due to the steroids he took that morning. (Yep, we start early with sports training around here.) Just a little joke folks. Isaac actually coughed all night the night before with croup so Steven called him in medicine that morning. And speaking of warnings--has anyone given their child a steriod!? All I can say is, the tasmanian devil came to inhabit my child's body for a few hours.
He was cah-razy.
Speaking of crazy. Everywhere you turned one could find gentlemen discussing the prediction of the soon to be game...:)
Steven's sister and her husband joined in the tailgating festivities. We always enjoy having more Bama fans around. :)
And I enjoyed catching up with great friends--
A few years ago Jessica gave me the perfect ornament for my tree. It was a picture of a sign that said "Friends Divided." Ha. Thankfully the only thing we are ever divided over is a silly football game.
Speaking of Jess, here she is with her two brothers and sister in law.
And of course we can't forget the get-along-gang from high school. The only person we were missing was our friend Joy.
Katie is soon to give birth to her second child--a baby BOY!! If you haven't read her blog she has a wonderful story of grace and redemption regarding this precious baby. It's on my side bar titled Ben and Katie...or the Comptons...
We couldn't resist a mother/daughter pictures as well.
Plus we all couldn't resist getting a picture with sweet Savannah girl.
There would have been more pictures of Isaac if he wasn't running around like a hoodlum. Did I mention he was on steriods??
My parents and their tailgating buddies.
Camille was wearing her orange and blue...it takes a while to switch over I told her. ;) But she did confess she was cheering inwardly for the Tide. Well, I'm guessing her inwards were happy then.
We couldn't pass up a picture of the entire family. The fact that we were all together doesn't happen often let me tell you.
My parents and their two youngest grandbabies.
Oh, where's Isaac you ask? He's to the side of the tent running around in circles, sneaking his third cupcake.
Does anyone want to know where Isaac gets his silliness from? It must be genetic. His grandfather, my dad, is quite silly himself...
And we couldn't leave the tailgate without trying to get a family of four picture for the memory book.
Hmmmm....it doesn't always go as planned...
And that's the life with toddlers folks. But you know, I wouldn't trade it for the world.
Steven ended up going to the game and I walked the kiddos back to my parents house and settled for watching it on television. Which is never a bad thing. Steven had a blast and now we are looking forward to taking a certain trip in January...to a certain southern city in Lousiana. Well, that is if the BCS works itself out the right way come next weekend.
All in all, it was a wonderful day of tailgating, fellowship, fun...and tasmanian devils.
