A Day with Daddy

It's safe to say everyone is happy when Daddy's off from work and I've got the picture to prove it.

Our "day with Daddy" happened a few weeks ago but, like always, I haven't had a chance to sit down and post.  However, you would see why if you walked into our house at the moment.  I've been sick since Wednesday with a flu-like virus (we think) and now the older two have the same exact thing.  Fever, chills, sore throat, and a whole lot of feeling just plain lousy.  It wasn't fun, not fun at all.  But you know, it's times like these that I find myself most thankful.  Thankful that my kids and I don't have something worse because it can always be worse can't it.  I'll tell myself that tonight when I'm up with sick babies...

Okay, so our day with daddy started with our usual morning breakfast at home.  Like all days with Daddy start.

Where Isaac chatted our ears completely off...

And Savannah just sat in her seat all quiet-like, like a good little girl.

After breakfast our day involved traveling 45 minutes away to Pensacola, FL where we took in all the sights and sounds of the National Naval Aviation Museum.

It was a Monday morning so we had the place (almost) all to ourselves.

Isaac was intrigued for 45 minutes or so and then began to continually ask where the playground was.

I wanted to have record of my existence...I mean that I was there...so I kindly asked the dear hubs to take a photograph to commemorate our day out with daddy.

Isaac's face says it all.

By the looks of that last picture you would think Isaac was getting bored.  I'm not sure how you think so. I mean, he hides his emotion so well.

Once we had enough walking around we found that Isaac was indeed correct when he asked about the kids playground one thousand times on our tour.
He was quickly back to smiling once again.

It really was a great place.  One that Steven and I would like to go back to in the future so we can take time to read the history.  Although I think we can safely presume that may be well in the future.  But I definitely would be willing to go back just so the kids can play on that cute playground again.

Even the youngest of all young ins enjoyed it!

But you know what?  I have a feeling she was just smiling to be on a day with daddy.

Oh, and if you are wondering why she has only a sweater and diaper on it's because of a little "episode" as we sat down for lunch.  Lillian always likes to pick the best times to have a MASSIVE blow out poopy explosion. Thank goodness I brought her a sweater that morning!!!  Sometimes a mom of three doesn't prepare well enough for massive poopy explosions.  Imagine that.

6 months

She turned 6 months a little over a week ago now and continues to be a happy little thing.

She loves to smile at her siblings and follow them around the room.
If she's not careful she'll get whiplash because the older two move like lightning these days.

Lillian had her first taste of food about a week ago and did better than the other two for her first time.

If you drop by our house during feeding time, you'll see a little glimpse into the life of the third baby.

Notice the name on her bib?

Thankfully she doesn't care.  And apparently momma doesn't either...ain't nobody got time for that!;)

She continues to be a pretty easy baby.  But don't get me wrong, our life isn't always an easy breeze.  Steven's been working a lot lately which means gone a lot of nights during the kiddos bed time routine.  Which means I have to put three little ones to bed by myself at the worst time of day.  I don't know about you but I feel like the time from 6 to 7 at night is the hardest for me...kids(and mama) are tired, the baby is crying, kids need a bath, baby needs to be fed, screaming over lost pacis, etc. etc.  I'm sure most of you can relate in one way or another.

Anywho...back to my six month baby girl.
How is she half a year already?  My goodness!!!

One things for certain, I can't imagine my life without her.

Oh, and another thing that's certain--if you look up the definition of thunder thighs in the dictionary Lily girl's legs would be the first to appear.

I mean, please look at those chunky things!

We love our chunky monkey to pieces!

And speaking of little monkies.  Here's a picture of all three of my monkies at 6 months old.

They grow too fast...

Easter 2013

It's true, we're ALIVE!

I can honestly say moving has kicked my bootay.  There hasn't been one second where I felt like I could sit down, relax, and update the blog.  So what have I been up to?  Oh ya know....unpacking!!  Unpacking during nap time, unpacking after the kids go to bed...see a theme here?  I literally can't unpack when the kids are awake.  It's pure chaos I tell ya.  Chaos.

We are loving our new house and it took the kids all but one night to get used to their new rooms and layout.  Isaac chose to sleep with me the first night because he was frightened to be alone in his new room, but now he goes to sleep in there with ease.  Well, I'm not telling the whole story--he gets up almost every night in the middle of the night to sleep in my bedroom.  Does anyone else's four year old do this? I'm sure I was the same way.

We moved on the Saturday before Easter Sunday and it was my true intention to take plenty of pictures of the entire process but as always I just didn't get around to it.  Not surprising.
However, I was determined to get my camera out the following day and thankfully, prevailed.
I will admit though that I am thoroughly disappointed in myself for not getting a family picture of the five of us in all our Easter get up and garb.  Again, it was my intent but every single time I wanted to someone was having a melt down...I'm sure this included the adults too.;)

Easter was special this year as we celebrated our risen Savior in a new home...and I don't mean our new house.  Fairhope is slowly becoming like home to us and we are most thankful for that.  It helps when you have a community of welcoming friends in a city to really make you feel close to settled.  This was our first Easter not to be with family.  We definitely missed our families without a doubt but God is so good to answer one of our prayers moving here and that was to find friends very soon after moving here that felt just a little like family.

We celebrated the risen Christ at our church that morning then went over to a friend's house for Easter lunch and a cute little egg hunt for all of the kids.  I'm furious I didn't get a picture of Savannah in her Easter dress--she took it off to eat lunch and forcefully refused to put it back on for the egg hunt.

You pick your battles folks.

Isaac looks thrilled doesn't he. ha.

So I forced him to give me a smile.

Lillian sat the egg hunt out this year but didn't seem to mind.  All she wanted was a bite of those chubby toes.

You can't have a proper egg hunt until you force lots of kids to take a picture before they start.

Miss Priss led the way...

Here's a picture of the mommies at the party I "stole" from my friend, Laura, and her cute blog.

It was a great afternoon and the kids were not happy when we had to leave.

I tried to explain all the unpacking I had to do but that just doesn't fly with kids.  Who knew.

I did manage to get a picture of baby girl in her Easter finest when we arrived home from the party.  She was happy to model her dress and bonnet for me...even if her daddy said she looked like a little muffin when we left for church.

But she's the cutest little muffin that I ever did see.

Happy Easter everyone!!  I'm thankful we can celebrate a RISEN Savior EVERY SINGLE DAY!
