All alone

Watch out Folks!  He's on the move!

There's no telling what this kid does when I sit down to nurse his sister.

This is the first day I've had to be by myself all day with the two kiddos.  I know, I know...I really don't have much to complain about seeing that Savannah is already 3.5 weeks old and I've had help until now.  But nonetheless, I have to start somewhere and this happened to be the day.

I'm happy to say we've survived so far. Of course it is only 4 o'clock and the day isn't over yet.  Not to mention I didn't venture out of the house once.  I'll leave that for another day.
There was only one time I found myself getting overwhelmed.  Around 1 o'clock when naps began one tired little boy was screaming in his bed (I had forgotten to give him his precious bunny and paci) and one hungry little girl was screaming in her bed.  I just had to stop and take a small breather.  First of many times I'm sure.

So far Isaac has been so sweet to Savannah.  Kissing her on the forehead every chance he can get.
Also making sure her paci is nice and comfortably placed.

Giving her wise toddler advice...

And always creeping up behind her to "touch head."

Or occasionally poke an eyeball.

Baby girl just goes with the flow...

The two are becoming fast friends, and even took their very first bath together!

Surprisingly Isaac didn't even mess with her once.  I'm predicting that will change in the future.

And speaking of Isaac and being a mess, his best bud came over for a visit this weekend.  I got some great pictures for their college dorm room.

Two peas in a pod I'd say.

My friend the duchess

A few days before giving birth to Savannah I received an unexpected surprise in the mail.  After walking outside to retrieve the mail himself, Steven came inside chuckling.

"What are you laughing about?"  I curiously asked.

No verbal response was needed.  He slowly walked over to me with an amused grin on his face and displayed the precious prize.

Yes, it is exactly what you were thinking wasn't it.  I thought the same.

Interesting (was my reaction), a picture of the lovely Kate Middleton...ahem I mean, Mrs. William Arthur Philip Louis...

I slowly turn the card over in my hand only to find this on the back!!

I mean HOLY MOLY!  Sent to me by royal airmail from the UK itself!  I knew Kate was a famous blog stalker of mine, but seriously...Who knew I was such great friends with the princess herself!

So.  The moral of this story you ask?

1. It pays to have a royal wedding day party
2. I knew using my fine china would come back to reward me
3. British people are nice
4. And maybe, just maybe, they will name their first child Kimberly.  Be it girl or boy.

So here's to you my dear Duchess of Cambridge.  I hear you are soon to be in the States.
Our door is open and my fine china is clean.  Oh, and we have an extra twin bed for you and you're new hubby to cuddle in.  It's in the baby's room.  You won't mind getting up with her at night will you?

I am forever grateful for my postcard.
It seriously made my day. ;)

A few days away...

Like my last post said we spent a few days away from our home and headed to the lake.  It was nice and quiet and oh so relaxing.  Well, as relaxing as it can be with an infant.  It helped tremendously having CC around to help with both kiddos, not to mention Isaac was never hurting for attention.

Isaac finally opened up to the idea of a life jacket and swimming in the water.  It helped to have his daddy around to coax him.  He also finally allowed us to take his shirt off while swimming so his baby white chest could get a little sun.

Thank goodness for the puddle jumper.  He even would swim back and forth from person to person by himself!  What a big boy...

What did Itty Bitty do while he played in the water?

Oh, she slept.

Speaking of a big boy...Steven even convinced Isaac to tube for the first time.  Despite his solemn face in the pictures, he nodded after when asked if he liked it.

What did sister do while Isaac tubed?

Funny you should ask.

She slept.

So not only did Isaac enjoy the water and the tube, but he loved to ride on the sea doo as well.  Again, his face didn't show it but we could tell he found it entertaining.

 Having fun with Papa Spray...

In the midst of all the fun Isaac was able to get some good acting practice in.  His fake cry face is quickly becoming an Oscar winning trait.

We had some friends visit on Monday and enjoyed a lazy day with them.  Andrew is in residency with Steven and his wife Kelly is such a sweet friend.

Itty Bitty has finally started staying awake more.  Not much mind you, but her little eyes are starting to show.  She is such a sweet baby girl and so far pretty easy.  She eats good and definitely poops good. ;)  She has been sleeping better at night after she got over her days and nights mix up.  She'll go anywhere from 3-4 hours at night.

I still can't believe she is already 3 weeks old.  Where has the time gone?  She has been such a joy to us.  Isaac has really started to take to her.  Just today when we got home he was running around the house and Savannah was in her little baby seat.  He stopped as he past by her and bent down to kiss her forehead.  Um, somebody stop my melting heart please!

Thank you CC for playing and loving on the kids and us.  We had a blast!

Fun at the Lake

Hi there.

We are enjoying our time at Lake Martin for a few days.  It always feels good to get out of the house when you have a 2.5 week old.  I don't feel like I'm in jail anymore. :)

And we can't forget Itty Bitty.
She's enjoying herself too...

More pictures to come soon...

30 years and visitors

Hi Folks.

We are back.  Sleep deprived and all.  I'm glad one of us can sleep...

Well, we've had a great week so far.

Somebody turned the BIG 3-0 yesterday!!  Here's that somebody as a cute little boy...

And here's that somebody as an adult.  Technically he was 28 here...but I promise he looks just the same now that he's 30.  Maybe just a few more wrinkles around the eye. ;)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my precious husband!!  And yes, I used the word precious for you...I know it sounds girly but that's what you are.  I am so thankful you came into this world 30 years ago and the Lord brought you into my life.  What would I do without you???  I don't even like to think of it.  Thank you for being the most wonderful husband and father that anyone could ever ask for.  All THREE of us LOVE LOVE LOVE you!!!

We enjoyed a nice quiet dinner alone last night at a wonderful sushi resteraunt.  Thank you CC for coming up and watching the kiddos for us!!  We definitely feel blessed with both grandparents near by and giving up their time to spend it with us.

And speaking of birthdays...

Okay, not really speaking of birthdays...but I had to find a transition into the next title of my post somehow.

We've had many visitors come by and meet sweet Savannah during the past couple of weeks.  I haven't taken pictures of all of them but I thought I would post the ones I did take for memories sake.

The very first night we were home our good friends and neighbors came over for a bit.  Their little girl Taylor was born just two weeks before Savannah.

Man, I look tired.  And I was.

Next is one of my sweetest friends, Katie.  My wonderful roomie for 2 years in college.

My cousin Caleb and his wife and kids came by the day after we got home.

My dad didn't get to hold Savannah after she was born because he had to work soon after the birth.  So my parents and little sister came to get a hold on Sunday afternoon.

If you 've followed this blog for the past month or more you know about my three best girlfriends from my high school days.  Jessica and Joy came over to meet our Itty bitty.  Katie was there for the birth, but these two girls couldn't make it.

And I'll end with one of my favorite pictures of the day that my 30 year old husband took.  Me with my babies.  There's nothing sweeter...
