Day 3 and so on

On the third day the water continued to be just as clear as the first.  Just perfect.  Daddy arrived around lunch and we were thrilled to see him.  He had just finished an overnight shift then drove four hours down to the beach...his afternoon nap was the same length as Isaac's.  Four hours. :)

Now we are getting into the part of the post where the days are jumbled and pictures aren't all from Day 3.  Prepare yourself, there may be a lot of them.

A certain someone was beyond happy that Daddy had arrived...

Can you tell?

Little buddy continued to warm up to his environment throughout the week and enjoyed picking up sand and throwing it into the water.

There was lots of fun daddy/son time in the ocean as we knew there would be...

And mommy even made a few pictures thanks to DD...

Got to love the "post pregnancy hand on your hip skinny arm" picture.  Oh, you didn't know there was a name for that?  Well, there is.

That evening we all went out to eat again.  When at the beach do as the beachers do (or something like that) and not to mention we all LOVE seafood!  Including this guy.  Well, that and grilled cheese sandwiches...

After our early dinner we participated in one of my husband's most favorite past times!  Taking pictures on the  beach of course!  I know you can't read the sarcasm in my writing but trust me, it's there.  If you asked Steven what he would rather do...watch a full episode of the Bachelorette or take sunset pictures on the beach with his family he would seriously have a time contemplating.  Both things he loathes with a passion.  But I assured him we didn't have to wear white and khaki and that seemed to make things a little better.  A little.

So without further ado here are a few evening beach pics.  We took a zillion but I'm only putting one up of our little family...due to my post pregnancy body that the skinny arm hip pose did nothing for, kids looking every which way, and Steven's hair flying about with the wind we only got one good one.

But at least there's one, right.

Right before we took this I told Steven to sit down in the sand for our picture.  I think his exact words were, "gay" and "do we have to?"  (No offense to all my gay friends out there!  Not that there's anything wrong with that.......please tell me you've seen that Seinfeld episode??)

Any who, we continued on with more pictures throughout the evening...

The following pictures crack me up.  It's always difficult trying to get a good picture with two babies in tow as one doesn't cooperate while the other likes to snack on a dress.

Sweet girl.

Pop Pop and Isaac's sandcastle was even still standing from the day before!

Well, it looks like I better run folks.  Someone is coaxing me into the sand castle for a shovel date.

If you've stayed with our little beach adventure this long, bless you.  I sure didn't know I would have so many pictures and this is only a fraction of them.

Thanks for a WONDERFUL beach trip Pop Pop, CoCo, and DD!  We enjoyed every minute!

Now back to reality... :)

Day 2

The second day on the beach went much better and little buddy soon adjusted to life on the sand, or the "big sand bocks," as he likes to call it.

There was a nice breeze blowing and even baby sister enjoyed herself under our big tent.

That swing was a major pain to take out but it was a lifesaver for one sleepy baby.

First things first, build a giant sand castle with Pop Pop.

And wouldn't you know it but grumpy pants actually started enjoying himself.
See, I told you the beach was fun!

We could not have asked for prettier weather all week!  The water was the clearest I've seen it in a long time and there wasn't a moment you didn't see dolphins jumping by.  Katie and I enjoyed basking in the sunshine and cooling off in the ocean.

Yes, I was a brave one and took the old camera in the water.  If it would have been the least bit choppy I may have backed out.

Soon PopPop and Isaac joined us.

The water isn't so bad now is it...

"Hey you guys (said in a Sloth voice from the Goonies), come on in.  The water feels great!"

I am loving this puddle jumper (flotation device).  Not to mention he LOVES it too.

So our morning ended victorious and little buddy was off to a great start.  Of course we traveled inside for lunch and nap time.  Ah, nap time. One of my favorite times of day.  And boy do little children take great naps at the beach!  Four hours one day.

Oh not her, she had to eat.  Just big brother.

Later that afternoon when children stirred from their beds Isaac joined Pop Pop and DD on a kite flying adventure at the beach.  I walked out there for a moment to tell them to come back in because it was thundering and lightning in the distance.  Of course I couldn't pass up my favorite time of day to take pictures...

As you can see, Isaac was afraid of the approaching storm as well.  He wouldn't let anyone put him down.

And mommy had to get a few pics with my boy.

We ended the night with a much needed bath and a super fun swinging time with PopPop.

Don't let the solemn look fool you, she enjoyed herself too.

Day 2 was GREAT!  And better yet, Day 3 includes Daddy joining us.  We always love when Daddy is around.
