Steven and I went to Orlando this past weekend to see Cirque du solei (hope I spelled that right). It was amazing! It was so wonderful getting away for night, just the two of us, and enjoying a stress free afternoon/night. We got to Orlando Saturday afternoon and hopped straight on the disney monerail and rode to a couple of the resort--the polynesian and the grand floridian. That night we went to downtown disney and ate at the rainforest cafe--a restaurant that i have been wanting to eat at for a while. Then we headed to our show which was incredible and if anyone gets a chance to see it should.

Oh, if you are wondering who flat stanley is (which, kelly, you are the only one who reads this post i think:) ) my nephew, Rowen, sent us this from his class and asked if we would take flat stanley to fun locations and take pictures with him. we can't let our sweet little nephew down!

We had a wonderful Christmas with our families! It was a much needed break for both Steven and I...

Going home during the holidays always makes Steven and I appreciate and miss our families so much more.

Thanksgiving!

Steven and I had a wonderful thanksgiving with our families. It was so good to be in Alabama for a little while and be able to spend some time with all our friends, parents, and siblings (minus Kelly and Ryan). Thursday was a nice reminder to be thankful for what the Lord has given us and I truly cannot thank Him enough! I am amazed by all the blessings upon blessings that He chooses to give to Steven and I. I so often take little things for granted in life...my job, roof over my head, family, friends...and the Lord wants us to be THANKFUL ALWAYS..."Be joyful always, pray continually, give THANKS in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus." 1st Thess. 5:16-18

Speaking of thanks...Steven and I got to go to the Alabama vs. Auburn game. And of course we were not thankful about the outcome. However, it was so great getting to sit with Ben and Katie at the game and actually be at a live football game this year. Wow, was it embarrassing.:) I tried to cheer like crazy anyway.

Sure, we've only won two games so far this season (against Western Carolina and Vandy I might add)...but it's good to have hope in Bama football again. And sure, we may not win every game this season (which i'm sure we won't) but boy is it fun while it last.

School is going okay, no complaints really. Steven is on a psych rotation right now and finds it to be horribly boring and depressing. Thankfully, my husband won't be a psychiatrist... We start up Young Life again and this year we are doing something a little different.

Young Life is splitting this year between Lakewood Ranch High and Braden River and Steven and I are going to the Braden River High side. One of our good friends, Graham, will be leading that group and we are going to help him. It should be a great year. Nothing else really...

Summer in Alabama

Steven and I have had a wonderful July thus far. It has been so relaxing spending time with the family and seeing friends we rarely see anymore. It makes me sad to think I only have a week and a half left in Bama before we go back to Florida--and it's not Florida which I dread but the stressfulness of work and school. But, I guess I can't complain seeing how my job gives me three months off at a time.

While Steven is doing his family practice clinical rotation in Sylacauga I have been going to Auburn some to hang out with my mom, spending time with Kelly and the boys at the pool, seeing friends in Birmingham, and reading Gone with the Wind and Harry.

Eat, Sleep, and Harry

In honor of Kelly, I have decided to dedicate this post to Harry Potter. On Saturday morning, July 22, Kelly and I drove in from the lake around 7:30 a.m. to go to the Alex City Walmart for what else...the 7th Harry! I finished in two days-- compared to Carla who finished in 7 hours! All in all, I was quite satisified with the book and the ending and felt like J.K. finished it very appropriately.

Summer

I know it's been quite a while...actually I just remembered that I even have a blog site!! From now on, I am determined to do a better job with updating--because my last post was in September!!

Steven and I are doing very well. We almost feel like he is at a half way point through med-school now that he started clinical rotations...although he has five more years left! He started his surgical rotation on Monday in which he drives to St. Petersburg every morning (around 35 mintues north) to follow around a group of doctors. He has really enjoyed it so far and comes home everyday with stories ranging from a gall bladder removal to cutting out a huge chunk of a man's butt. I am extremely thrilled that he doesn't have to study on the weekends anymore..well, not as much anyway. His board scores should come in the mail in a few weeks.

I finished teaching a few weeks ago and spend my summer days in various ways--laying out at the beach, pool, reading, sleeping, cleaning, planting, etc. Everytime I get ready to complain of boredom i remind myself that I could be back at school and surprisingly my attitude changes ever so quickly. I am re-reading the last two Harry Potters to be ready for the 7th book in July. Steven's sister, Kelly, and I definitely plan on going right at midnight to Barnes and Noble to get the final book. Obsessed are we? Just a little.

Oh, If anyone reading this can tell me how I can add friends to my blogger account please let me know. I haven't figured that out yet and I'm sure it is quite simple. Now, to figure out how to post a picture...

Is it really September?

You know football season has started when your husband screams like a little girl and runs around the house skipping and clapping. Okay, maybe Steven didn't do that but his excitement is quite obvious.

Where did my summer go? I am back to school already, teaching kids how to be better public speakers, actors, and news anchors. Half of the kids are foreign I might add...it's real fun teaching public speaking to a young boy who just arrived off a plane from China. No offense to Chinese people. He is trying. I also love how my principal wants me to teach a TV Production class just because my resume says broadcast news--clearly I know EVERYTHING about cameras, switcher, mixers, and lighting after learning how to be a news reporter. Where did I miss taking that class in college?? Thanks UA communication department.

Now, as my mother would say "Nothing else going on here...I need to go."

There is a first time for everything

I have never considered myself the type of person that would be a "blogger" but there is a first time for everything. I'm sure I will rarely post anything of significance, that is if I post anything at all beyond this point.
However, if this becomes an obsession anywhere near my facebook account I will be posting something every hour.
