Back in Business

Our computer is finally back (insert hallelujah chorus here). Thankfully I had plenty to keep me busy while it was away...including this little guy.

In the last couple of weeks he has literally grown 2 sizes. And I don't mean his height. His personality and attitude are beginning to resemble a full fledged toddler...oh yes, and the strong will has already settled and made it's place comfortably inside of him.

While the computer was away Isaac had his 15th month appointment in which he weighed 25 pounds 13 oz and measured 32 inches in length. Still 80th % for height and 70% for weight. I'm not really sure how this kid can be 70% percent though....my arm muscles are beginning to look like those body builders you see on t.v. Okay, okay, not so much the women body builders...and you can't really see the muscle part...but I can feel my strength GREATLY improving. :)

This past weekend we also took a trip to Jackson, Mississippi to see my grandmother Meme.

In addition to my Meme, my sister Carla and her husband were in town from NYC for a wedding. Unfortunately we only stayed at the reception for 10 minutes. Sorry Isaac was so grumpy Carla! My little sister Camille was also able to join us this weekend so there was great sister bonding all around. :)

This little man keeps me moving these days. He wants to be outside constantly...pointing to the window or door right when he wakes up each morning. I have come to the realization that his knees are just going to stay scraped and bloody throughout the summer. Hopefully a bloodied knee won't look too bad with a cute bubble...

He is also talking all the time. I mean ALL the time.

No, not saying anything coherent but jabbering away like crazy. I often wonder how he learned French and German before English. I'll have to ask him one of these days....

He also makes some hilarious facial expression while speaking in this foreign jibber jabber.

He smiles all the time and likes to bite things do to teething. Steven likes to refer to him as our little gremlin from time to time. :)

After Meme's house we drove to Moselle, MS to see my other grandparents, Memaw and Papaw for the day. We enjoyed a big plate of ribs, fresh vegetables and strawberries just picked from their garden. And of course, Isaac enjoyed the fellowship.

All in all he is so much fun!! We are definitely looking forward to the summer months with him. From the beach to the lake he is going to have a blast...and I'll have plenty of picture opportunities. ;)

We have NOT left the blogging scene my friends....just left our computer. At Best Buy that is...
The hard drive decided it didn't want to work anymore so they are replacing it as we speak, I mean type.

Lions, Tigers, and Monkeys!?

We missed our beloved morning nap today and headed to the ZOO for some fun in the sun! And it sure was sunny alright. Sunny and hot. But I'm definitely not complaining because I would take the heat over the cold right now any day of the week. And did I mention that we, and all of Alabama elementary schools, decided to go on a zoo safari this morning? I have seriously never seen the zoo so packed. Not that I'm an adimate zoo goer or anything...but really, we parked in ten buck two...

Despite the crowds of snotty nose faced kids :) we had a delightful time. We even enjoyed some bonding time with two other moms and their boys!

On to the pics. I forgot to get pictures of animals this go around. Honestly, I have always been one to make fun of anyone who takes their camera to the zoo and snaps pics of animals in their cage habitats. But, I'm sure I'll end up being one of those mommies before long... :)

All the boys lined up to watch the monkeys in the comfort of their own stroller... ahhh, must be nice.

Most of the time Isaac was more interested in wheels than watching the animals. This kid is obsessed with wheels!!!

A very Whittles Wedding...

One of my dearest friends from college got married this past weekend. I'm not sure where the nickname, Whittles, came to me from the name Katie Whitt...there's usually no explaining what goes on inside my brain, but it came and it stuck.

Enough about my brain...

Katie got married Saturday evening at Covenant Presbyterian in Birmingham and we could not have asked for a more beautiful day for the ceremony. The bride looked stunning and the fun fellowship was contagious catching up with old friends from our Bama days. Oh, those days seem like a lifetime ago... Why is that? Because of the tiny crowsfeet forming around my eyelids, or the fact that I have a little fatty pooch on my tummy thanks to a little baby named Isaac? Why, Why!!?? :)

On a more serious note, the day was such a beautiful picture of God's sovereignty in each one of our lives. Katie (I'm sure she wouldn't mind me telling you) patiently waited for her lifelong mate, and in the Lord's perfect timing He brought him along. It was an honor on Saturday to share in the sweet journey and be reminded of God's love for His children.

Well, enough typing and onto pictures! Don't worry, I got extra practice this weekend with the new cam. Paparazzi was my middle name.

Evening Picnics

We have been taking full advantage of the weather lately. For the past few nights we have taken dinner to the outdoors. Of course, I couldn't help but photograph the ocassion. The photos turned out a little dark (had my camera on the wrong setting and didn't feel like editing) but it still did the trick. :)

At the end of dinner, it usually results in seeing how many pieces of leftover food he can smash.

And you get to clean it all up mommy...

"He's not here...He's RISEN!"

As I was reading the Easter story a few nights ago in the book of Matthew, I am always struck by one specific part. Don't get me wrong, the ENTIRE story is amazing but I just love the part when the two women (both Mary) are slowly walking up to the grave sight at dawn. I can imagine the birds chirping in the background and the trees slowly blossoming. The whole world gradually waking up as the bright sun comes in through the trees.

Those women must have been sad. I mean extremely sad. The kind of sad where you don't talk to one another as you walk. You dread seeing the body of your Jesus lying in his cold tomb, probably bloodied and scarred, ready for you to wash. I'm sure their stomaches ached as they walked there. I wonder if it ever crossed their minds that Jesus may not be there?? I would think not.

But, thankfully, we know something they don't know.

As they walk into the tomb.... Okay, lets backtrack. As they first come upon the tomb they see the stone rolled away and roman guards lying on the ground. What on earth could have crossed their minds at this point? Where they frightenend then to go inside the tomb or did they take off running to see what they found? I don't know if I would have gone any closer. But, they braved through and Mark says they actually went inside the tomb and there saw "a young man dressed in a white robe." Matthew says "his appearance was like lightning." I'm sure the two Mary's hearts stopped a beat or two.

And now to the best part. He tells them, "Don't be afraid....He is not here; HE HAS RISEN, just as he said." I get chills everytime I read this part! What a contrast it must have been, from their slow walk that morning, when the two women ran (oh, yes I'm sure they ran) back to the house to tell the disciples. And we won't even get into the fact that they met Jesus on the way! Are you kidding!!!?? How incredible is that! Saw him that morning before anyone!

Okay, okay, so you get the idea. Go read it again and again and again! But more importantly we should always remember how our Savior died for US every single day of the year and how, more importantly, he rose again..."just as he said he would!" Praise the Lord for a RISEN Savior!!!

I hope everyone had a great Easter. We sure did, although it seemed to go by really quickly. We went to church in the a.m. of course and then headed to Sylacauga to eat lunch with the Sprayberry clan. We had a wonderful time of fellowship and fun.

I got Isaac's cute little bubble at a consignment sale this year and it looked completely new! I suppose this will be the last year for an outfit such as this... I think the last straw for Steven was when our nephew, Rowen, asked if Isaac was wearing a tu tu. :)

Yesterday afternoon Isaac began his modeling career. Fireflies and Fairytales (a children's store that I work for ocassionally) asked little man to be in a spring photo shoot. Although we couldn't get him to smile (I know, BIG shocker for my child and photo shoots), he did have a cute serious look about him throughout the day. And even despite getting frightened of flying bubbles and having to take his shoes off, he did quite well.

And not to mention, I was able to get some cute photos even though he would only stay still 5 seconds. I'm obsessed with this little outfit and may have to get it for him! I'm not too into smocking but seriously, these smocked dump trucks are PRECIOUS!!

I was loving some thick baby legs.
