Mississippi grandparents

Meeting Meme for the first time, in Jackson, MS. Isaac LOVED when Meme gave him a bath!

Isaac's elvis look...his lips do some strange things sometimes...he definitely got my expressive mouth.:) The way he was most of the time at Memaw and Papaws...crying! Then Papaw got a hold of him...
And they were fast asleep. Having fun with Memaw The cross-eyed look:)

Match day and vacation

The month of march has been a busy time for us while we travel to see family and friends. Steven has been on his vacation rotation for the last two weeks and we have two more weeks with him still. It has been WONDERFUL having him home all the time...I'm definitely going to be spoiled thats for sure. The first week we went to Auburn to spend time with my family for a little bit. Isaac did great in his new surroundings and we enjoyed spending some time with my parents. It got kind of busy towards the end because my mom was packing to leave for Africa to see my sister, Katie. And my little sister was packing to leave for France for a youth group spring break trip. But needless to say, we had a wonderful time with them!

The second week we headed to Steven's family lake house where we spent time with Steven's parents and his sister, her husband, and kids. We had a wonderful time with them as well. Very relaxing. It was nice having steven's mother, CC, there the whole time...she was so sweet to watch him while Kelly and I read the Twilight series.:) Steven's grandparents were able to come for the day on Tuesday as well so it was fun for them to hold Isaac.

All in all, it has been a wonderful vacation! One of the most important days of Steven's "career" happened while we were at the lake on Thursday. He found out where he will be placed for residency for the next three years! We are so thrilled that he got his first choice, UAB!!! So Steven's will start Emergency Medicine residency at UAB this summer and this obviously means we will be able to stay in Birmingham for a little while longer. It is such a blessing and we are so thankful for this wonderful news!

I have been terrible with picture taking...as I always am. I don't have many pictures thus far from our travels but here are a few anyway. We are going to visit my grandmother in Jackson, MS tomorrow and then we have a fun beach trip planned with some of our best friends in a week...so I will definitely attempt to take pictures galore.

Hope everyone is enjoying this wonderful spring weather!!

More pictures

My sister Carla came to visit from Boston last week. It was her first time to meet Isaac so it was really special and we had so much fun. She was even here for the snow storm in Birmingham! And got a kick out of the town of Birmingham shutting down over 2-4 inches of snow that morning when she is used to walking to work in a blizzard! But, that's the south for you and we never get snow. We took some cute photos of the little man with her camera (it's a lot better than mine). We attempted to dress him up one morning in girly white outfits...he did pretty good most of the time. Steven didn't want to participate because of the outfits he was wearing :) but Carla and I enjoyed dressing up our little doll. The ones with the bonnet are hilarious to me!! Isaac has such a little boy face that the white bonnet just doesn't work on him....but we coudn't resist...

Isaac doing good with the bonnet right now

We had to put a passy in his mouth to stop the crying over having to wear the bonnet.

Bath time #2

I thought I would post our first video of Isaac enjoying one of his baths. He LOVES them! Sorry it is sideways. I thought the grandparents would enjoy seeing a video though.

I'm also adding more cute pictures of him. I just can't get enough of our little man!! He will be four weeks tomorrow...so hard to believe. It really does go by so fast.

First Bath

Tonight was Isaac's first bath. Well...kind of. We attempted to give him a bath two nights ago. Steven thought we should give him a bath 10 minutes before his feeding and Isaac didn't like that too much. He wailed the entire time and we took him out of the water, skipping the shampoo and cleaning all together. So, tonight I fed him first, then we gave him a bath and needless to say he liked this much better. You were right mom. ;)

He has been such a joy to us and we are loving our little man so much. Its really true what they say...nothing is quite like a mother's love for her child.

We took Isaac to his two week checkup this past friday and he looked great! I always thought it was funny when people posted their child's "stats" on their blog but now i'm doing it. haha. He weighed 9 pounds 2 ounces (7 pd 12 oz at birth) and had grown from 19 and 1/2 to 21 and 3/4. He was 70% for weight and 95% for height. Go figure...I guess Isaac might tower above his parents one day.

taking a bath

We went to the mall to eat tonight and I made him wear his bunny ear hat that my mom got him. Steven was like, "are you kidding me??" haha

How cute is this picture! I am truly the only girl in the house now.

Isaac's first outing

Steven and I took Isaac on a walk yesterday...FINALLY a beautiful warm day!! I have been feeling so cooped up lately with this cold weather and a new baby that it was so good to go on a short walk out in the sunshine. We think Isaac enjoyed it as well. :)
