Goodbye Pathfinder

It finally happened. Steven's 1995 Nissan pathfinder has bit the dust. Well, it hasn't quite died yet but we did have to tell it goodbye a couple of days ago. Let's just say it was on it's very last leg. The engine sounded funny, it would only go 25 miles per hour up a hill, and when it rained you could forget about driving for a little while. It wouldn't crank for about a day after it rained. We took it to carmax and got $500. We took the money and RAN, never looking back. :) I hope it doesn't rain on them soon...

As much as I have wished for this moment it was a little sad to see it go. But, only just a little.

Steven has driven this car since his junior year of high school and we have been out of college for how long now??? hard to count. But, I guess when you thought of Steven Sprayberry this car would always come to your mind.

Not anymore!

So, goodbye 1995 Pathfinder. I hope you find someone that loved you just as much as Stevie boy. Thank you for the memories. RIP...
Isaac was pretty upset too...

Shifting gears here (no pun intended)...for all you American Idol fans out there. I'm loving this season! I'm a Danny Gokey Fan! Who do you want to win??

Trip to Auburn

We took Isaac to Auburn on Friday night to spend some time with my family. We had a great time and the weather was gorgeous. Hasn't the weather been the BEST lately!!? I'm loving it! We were able to see our good friend and old neighbor in Bradenton, Nelda, so that was fun. She got to meet Isaac for the first time...I found out I was pregnant in Bradenton so it was really special for her to finally get to meet him. We are traveling to Florida the first week in June for Steven's graduation so we we can't wait to see our friends again soon!

All in all, we have been doing great. It's amazing how much easier life with a baby can get from those first few weeks after birth...well, the first SIX weeks after birth for me.:) Isaac is doing pretty good sleeping at night. I put him down around 8 and he wakes up anywhere from 1:30 to 3 in the morning for a feeding. I feed him, then put him right back to bed and he will sleep again until 6 a.m. Again, I feed him then he goes back to sleep for a hour or 2 more. I know the babywise book says "your baby should be 'sleeping through the night' by 12 weeks" but Isaac still likes that middle of the night meal. I'm not too worried. It doesn't bother me to wake up with him so I'll keep doing it for a little while. He still hates tummy time with a passion(i'm sure most babies do) and is holding his head up better. Still can't sit in a bumbo quite yet but I expect that to happen soon. He is always moving. I mean always. He can't sit still so his arms are always waving or his legs are dancing around...its hilarious really.

Here are a few pics from our trip and this past week. Stay tuned for a 3 month post soon. He will be 3 months tomorrow.:) Cannot believe that!
Isaac was a little fussy as we were leaving so the grandparent picture was not going to happen. Major and Isaac fast asleep Coco and Isaac Meeting Nelda for the first time

All Smiles...

We are loving this stage with our little man!! He is all smiles...well, not all the time. But, when he IS happy there is nothing that thrills us more than to see his precious smile. I thought I would break out the camera for a little photo shoot tonight while Steven made him smile. I can't take how cute it is...
He loves to stare at his hands right now...and put them in his mouth. I wish I got this excited over pictures in a book!

HAPPY EASTER!

We are having a wonderful easter sunday. What a GORGEOUS day it was today!! This morning we went to church in Birmingham then went to Sylacauga for lunch. I helped Kelly hide easter eggs for Rowen and Hudson outside and Isaac enjoyed being held by all the relatives. Isaac wore his adorable easter outfit that my mom gave to him. It was a little big for him but honestly you couldn't tell. It was a 6 month outfit and this kid is only 2 1/2 months old. I'm doomed for the summer...all I have is 6 month clothes!

I hope everyone had a wonderful day celebrating the resurrection of our Savior!

Two months!

We took baby Isaac to his two month appointment this morning--we have a big, but healthy baby on our hands.:) He weighed a wopping 13.13 pounds (95% in weight) and was 24.4 inches long (98%). Thankfully he is starting to slack off a little bit in feedings and usually will go more than 3 or 3.5 hours between them. He gets more and more fun everyday. I love the first newborn weeks but I didn't really know what I was missing. I'm LOVING all of these coo sounds and smiles. He is quite the talker! He is even starting to get more hair on the top of his head now and doesn't look as much like george castanza from seinfeld anymore...

Things Isaac loves:
His baby einstein mat
Bath time
His boppy
Momma's funny faces
Pooping

Things Isaac dislikes:
His swing
wet diapers (cries until we change him)
face washing
tummy time
All in all, we are loving our little boy and feel so blessed!

Steven's vacation time is almost over and I have been so spoiled with him around. We are going to miss him so much when Monday gets here. We had a wonderful time at the beach with Katie and Ben Compton...it was a much needed break. Actually this whole month has been great..getting out of our tiny apartment does me good.:) Isaac loved the beach too. We had good weather for two days while there and took him out to the beach for a couple of hours. He slept most of the time because the sun was so bright but I think he enjoyed the sound of the ocean waves. Who doesn't really!

Another mile stone in our month was house hunting and actually finding a place to live next year. We wanted to rent a house for the next three years. One, because we still have a house in Florida that we own, and two, it's far less hastle when we only may be in Birmingham for three more years. Honestly we didn't have to look hard--we are so thankful to the Lord for answering our prayers. I really like the house. It's actually just a few houses down from Katie and Ben so we will have them for neighbors for a few years. Very excited about that! Hopefully they won't get too sick of us.;)
Here are some pictures of our trip and Isaac, of course. Again, I didn't take that many. I need to get better about that...

Thanks Mom and Dad for our great time at the beach house!! Can't wait to go back with ya'll!

Mississippi grandparents

Meeting Meme for the first time, in Jackson, MS. Isaac LOVED when Meme gave him a bath!

Isaac's elvis look...his lips do some strange things sometimes...he definitely got my expressive mouth.:) The way he was most of the time at Memaw and Papaws...crying! Then Papaw got a hold of him...
And they were fast asleep. Having fun with Memaw The cross-eyed look:)

Match day and vacation

The month of march has been a busy time for us while we travel to see family and friends. Steven has been on his vacation rotation for the last two weeks and we have two more weeks with him still. It has been WONDERFUL having him home all the time...I'm definitely going to be spoiled thats for sure. The first week we went to Auburn to spend time with my family for a little bit. Isaac did great in his new surroundings and we enjoyed spending some time with my parents. It got kind of busy towards the end because my mom was packing to leave for Africa to see my sister, Katie. And my little sister was packing to leave for France for a youth group spring break trip. But needless to say, we had a wonderful time with them!

The second week we headed to Steven's family lake house where we spent time with Steven's parents and his sister, her husband, and kids. We had a wonderful time with them as well. Very relaxing. It was nice having steven's mother, CC, there the whole time...she was so sweet to watch him while Kelly and I read the Twilight series.:) Steven's grandparents were able to come for the day on Tuesday as well so it was fun for them to hold Isaac.

All in all, it has been a wonderful vacation! One of the most important days of Steven's "career" happened while we were at the lake on Thursday. He found out where he will be placed for residency for the next three years! We are so thrilled that he got his first choice, UAB!!! So Steven's will start Emergency Medicine residency at UAB this summer and this obviously means we will be able to stay in Birmingham for a little while longer. It is such a blessing and we are so thankful for this wonderful news!

I have been terrible with picture taking...as I always am. I don't have many pictures thus far from our travels but here are a few anyway. We are going to visit my grandmother in Jackson, MS tomorrow and then we have a fun beach trip planned with some of our best friends in a week...so I will definitely attempt to take pictures galore.

Hope everyone is enjoying this wonderful spring weather!!

More pictures

My sister Carla came to visit from Boston last week. It was her first time to meet Isaac so it was really special and we had so much fun. She was even here for the snow storm in Birmingham! And got a kick out of the town of Birmingham shutting down over 2-4 inches of snow that morning when she is used to walking to work in a blizzard! But, that's the south for you and we never get snow. We took some cute photos of the little man with her camera (it's a lot better than mine). We attempted to dress him up one morning in girly white outfits...he did pretty good most of the time. Steven didn't want to participate because of the outfits he was wearing :) but Carla and I enjoyed dressing up our little doll. The ones with the bonnet are hilarious to me!! Isaac has such a little boy face that the white bonnet just doesn't work on him....but we coudn't resist...

Isaac doing good with the bonnet right now

We had to put a passy in his mouth to stop the crying over having to wear the bonnet.
