2 weeks old
It's hard to believe it's been two whole weeks already. I suppose days and nights go by much faster when chaos and no sleep insue.
Lillian has been a pretty good baby thankfully. She just likes to have her days and nights mixed up/bad gas bubbles from about 1-3 in the morning every.single.night. this week. It's been lovely let me tell ya. However, I'm determined to be thankful during the nights...even when my crying hormones get the best of me.:)
We think she looks a lot like her daddy and a little different from the rest of the kiddos.
She's a sweet, cuddly little thing.
We have loved having this precious gift in our house for the last two weeks.
And we hope she can last more weeks to come....
That is IF....
she...
survives...
the girl...
with...
the mullet.

Thankful
My mom stayed with us for a week after Lillian's birth, like she has for each of my babies.
Here she is with her very first grandbaby, Isaac.
And then the second, Savannah...
She left on Thursday and we both cried.
Honestly, there's not enough words for how thankful I am for my mother's help during these precious, but overwhelming times in my life. I could not do it without her. I know not everyone has such a blessing after the birth of a baby so I definitely don't take her help for granted.
I have been especially overwhelmed this time around, as I already have two little ones at home. Plus, Savannah's age difference of 16 months doesn't help my sanity either. However, remembering how my mother raised us, 5 kids relatively close in age, gives me hope. She taught me that you don't have to be the perfect mother and have it all together every second of every day...but all you need is to love your children, and love them well.
I will be forever grateful for the cooking, cleaning, laundry doing, middle of the night rocking, and entertaining the older two kiddos throughout the week.
So, THANK YOU Mom/Coco!!!
I am so very grateful.

One week
Well, I hate to disappoint but this post won't be long.
I do have plenty of pictures that I plan to post but there's this little thing in my house that keeps wanting to be fed every 2.5-3 hours and poops like you wouldn't believe.
But...I couldn't go without documenting this sweet girl's first week of life. Today is my due date and Lillian is officially ONE WEEK old.
So happy one week baby girl! You have already brought us so much JOY...and so much little sleep.:)

Mother of three
Hello blogger world, its Kimbo's husband Steven. You'll be pleased to know
this is my first post ever placed on this phenomenon of blogging, twitter,
facebook, instagram and quite possibly my last. I feel like an old man right
now, but as a father of three I guess I am. Nevertheless, the kids these days
might call this a 'shout-out' to my wife...Kimberly.
It is an astounding blessing to have such a wonderful spouse like Kimmie, a blessing that unfortunately seems fewer and fewer people in our generation are able to experience. She, in her often dramatic but always loving way, has raised two wonderful children up to this point with me often missing at work. As I’m sure all husbands & fathers will agree, at least those that are able to experience the birth of their child, there is a deep pride and love that you feel for your wife during this birthing miracle experience. I’ve been blessed to experience this three times now; I’ve grown to appreciate Kimmie and her loving devotion more and more each time. She truly is the biggest blessing to me and a wonderful friend, wife and mother!

She's here!
Also, if you could say a prayer for our sweet baby girl. She really is doing great! But long story short I always have group B strep positive when I'm pregnant and they usually give two rounds of antibiotics in your I.V. when in labor every four hours but she came so fast I only had one. So...her white blood count is a little high and they did a blood culture on her and started her on antibiotics. We'll know on Saturday at some point if she is negative or positive. If she's negative, we'll get to go home. If positive, she'll have to stay in the hospital 5 more days.
So in a nutshell, just pray she'll be negative and get to come home.
Thank you friends!
More to come soon.

Last minute me
I've always been known to wait until the last minute--to do anything really...
I'm having this baby on Thursday (if all goes according to plan :) ) and I just finished washing all the baby clothes. I haven't even packed my own bag yet. We haven't put the packnplay in our bedroom like we need to or the crib in the guest/baby room. I still need to wash crib sheets, car seat pads, boppy covers...etc., etc...
My latest "last minute project" was to paint a cute little changing table I bought off craigslist a few weeks ago. And I waited until this weekend to even paint it.
Thankfully it wasn't that bad and I got to try a new paint that I've been wanting to use for a long time now.
Highly recommend folks.
Unfortunately you can't just find it anywhere but I was able to find a cute little antique store in Robertsdale (about 20 minutes away) that sold the stuff. Beware, it's not for the thrifty as the paint cost you a pretty penny...but it last forever so that's an upside.
Here's the changing table I bought for $50 on craigslist. I took the picture after all the drawers were off but you get the idea...
I even had a little helper on Saturday to make the time go by faster.
Wait, did I say helper?? I meant trouble maker...
Thankfully, the paint wasn't a trouble maker at all. With this paint you don't have to prime at all. Can I get a hallelujah from the choir? AND, all I had to do was one simple coat and I was able to get the exact look I wanted. I will warn you, this paint goes on kind of streaky like, but once it dries it doesn't look it really.
And the wax...you must buy the wax too. It creates such a beautiful finish and gives the piece a little softness.
Here's the color I used (duck egg) and my almost finished product...
Of course a little help from the hubs on the waxing didn't hurt a bit.
Now the waxing finished, the drawers back in, and a few knob changes...and VOILA...looks like new.
It's a cute little thing.
I'll definitely be using this chalk paint again--I can't say enough about it really.
Maybe I wait until the last minute to do baby stuff because I'm too distracted by other things.
I made this little wreath for my front door the other day. As you can see, super easy. Plus, isn't this the cutest burlap ribbon? Hobby Lobby people.
Add some pumpkins and the front door now looks somewhat fallish.
One little girl wants to show you her favorite pumpkin...
We've been enjoying this nice weather. We play outside almost every afternoon.
Who's the greatest big brother ever???
Yep. This crazy boy.
And we can't wait to add to this crazy bunch! Thankfully I do have all their shirts waiting and ready to go...
Still can't believe I'm looking at three of them. Wow, that was fast. ;)
I can't finish this post without telling you about my wonderful baby shower my sweet Fairhope friends threw me last week. I feel so blessed that I've made these friends and it has definitely made the process of moving to a new town so much easier.
This new little girl is set with the cutest little things now.
Speaking of new little girl...I'll try to post the name and a fabulous picture of my ginormous belly before Thursday hits. Funny story--I went to Home Depot yesterday to get something last minute (of course) and the cute black girl checking me out asked when I was due with the baby and she said, "Girrrrl, you don't look like you about to have this baby." I said, wait, let me turn to the side for you. "No, I don't believe it (as I turn to the side)...Oh, UH HUH, yeah, you ready." If only you could hear me do the impression it's so much better. But yes, from the side this little girl looks quite large. :)
Three more days...

"Tell me about..." and 38 weeks
This has been little buddy's most common phrase these past few months.
"Mommy, tell me about a balloon going up in the sky and crashing into something. Tell me about it."
"Daddy, tell me about a twain crossing a bidge (that would be train and bridge in toddler language) and a storm coming."
And then me or Daddy will have to make up a quick, random story about a balloon flying in the sky or a train going over a bridge. The story could take 10-15 seconds. I could even say, "one day a balloon flew up high in the sky and it didn't come down for a looong time and suddenly one day it crashed into an airplane and popped and that was the end of the balloon." And boom, he's completely satisfied with the story.
He's a curious little thing. If you are driving in the car with him you can completely forget about quiet time. I mean you could pass a duck on the side of the road and he would say, "Mommy tell me about the duck." And a story must begin...
But we love our curious little boy and he keeps us laughing daily.
Speaking of a talker, Itty Bitty is finally saying words.
It's been a slow process but she finally says Mama and Dada. However, we can't get her to say anything else right now. She understandspretty much everything we say but I'm guessing it's because big brother talks enough for her that makes her slower...and not to mention, I probably should work with her more.
One thing is for sure though, she LOVES her brother.
She also loves anything she can put around her neck. You can usually find Savannah walking around the house with this toy stethoscope around her neck, just like a necklace.
Maybe she'll be a doctor like her Dada. ...Or more likely a jewelry designer where their jewelry resembles medical devices.
I think it would really take off.
We have been enjoying this beautiful fall-ish weather lately. Most afternoons you can find these two out on our back porch.
Or playing at our favorite park near by.
With DADDY! I can't tell you how much better Steven's schedule is then when he was in residency. I'm lovin' it.
And don't let Steven fool you, he's loving more time to play too...
One of my favorite things about this new town of our's is the trees.
You will find these old, beautiful oak trees everywhere...
I'm determined to have one in my yard one day.
Well, I'm afraid this will have to be a post without a picture of my 38 week belly. Yep, I'm 38 week tomorrow and can't believe it.
I'm ready folks. Not ready for the no sleep mind you, but ready to have this little one out of my tummy. I love feeling her move around inside of me but don't love the quick kicks on my bladder sending a shock of pain, or the way my right thigh feels like a knife is going through it when I climb to the top of the stairs, or the THREE times a night I have to get up to pee.
We are really looking forward to meeting this new addition to our family. It's amazing how much grace the Lord gives you right before a baby is born. If you would have asked me three months ago if I was ready to have a newborn I would have broken out into cold sweats and cried like a ninny. But nine months is perfectly long enough for a preggo woman and by the time your nine months is over you are more than ready to meet this small little miracle that's been growing inside of you.
I plan to blog one (maybe even two...ha) times more before this baby is born. We'll see though.
We appreciate all your prayers in this labor and delivery process and most importantly for a healthy baby girl. We know the Lord has her in His hands...and has had her in His hands for a long time.
Next post I'll tell ya the name. How about that.
