Hodgepode #2

Here's another post for the random books. It's mostly just pictures from the ole' iPhone taken with me on the run.

1.  I picked up Savannah the other day from her jumparoo and sat the darling child right on my lab for a bit.  It didn't take me long to notice this...

Yes, that would be two pods of poo on my clothing.  Sick.

It was immediately followed with a bath.

2. I often take Isaac to the mall for him to release cooped up toddler energy.  He loves playing in the little cars that move with a drop of a quarter.  Thankfully, he doesn't know the car moves with money--  nor will he ever know.

3. These are possibly the ugliest shoes I have ever seen.

4. We are potty training around here.  And let me tell you, this kid is TOUGH to train and has no desire whatsoever.  I usually just make him walk around in the morning with only a shirt.

5. I love a sleeping baby.

6. Steven worked a lot of nights this past week which often means date nights with me, myself, and I and the kids.  Isaac and I love to get out of the house to eat.:)

7. This is currently the BEST show on television right now.  If you haven't been watching it I recommend doing it now.  No really right now.  Oh wait, it only airs on Sunday nights.  And be careful, it's highly highly addictive.  It began this past fall but I downloaded all of Season 1 this past week and am now caught up with Season 2.

That's about all the hodgepodeness I have for one day thank you very much.
With all this television watching I'm off to exercise. ;)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ISAAC!

Happy Birthday to my Isaac,

I often heard my own mother tell me that she could remember my birth like it was yesterday.  Only once you've experience motherhood, does it really start to make sense.
Isaac, I remember your very first birthday like it was yesterday.  It was one of the most special moments of my life--for you made me a mother.

And you made Steven a Daddy.

Time past and before we knew it you were sitting up on your own...

And then we all blinked and you were standing on your own...

And then walking...

You have always been my little companion.  Making me laugh every single day.

You've always been a momma's boy...and I hope it stays that way at least until you marry one day.

Because of you I've learned what it means to love more.

I've learned to enjoy each day the Lord has given me and not to take any day for granted.

HAPPY 3rd BIRTHDAY to my fun loving, sweet hearted, silly, goofy, easy going boy!
You forever changed my life this day three years ago.

You made me a mother.

Exciting Life

Smile if you love this 70 degree weather in January!

I couldn't agree more Vannah girl.  I'm loving it too.
Yes it's true.  Birmingham, Alabama has seen two days in a row of the 70's in January and I wish it would stay until April.  I'm a lover of warm weather you see and could do without anything lower than the 50's.

We've had a nice week thus far with Steven being off most it.  That is a sure way to make our week better.

We had a lovely visit with Steven's grandparents today as they occasionally come to the "big City" to see us (I mean our kids) and treat us for lunch.

Isaac enjoyed full attention from GaGa while Savannah napped for a moment.  He's always a sucker for someone reading him a story.

And once Savannah awakened she found herself quickly in Bill's arms.

We enjoyed the nice, warm weather this evening and went out for a stroll.  Isaac was begging to walk to the High Place so we set out for a quick adventure.

But not without a few pictures before we left.

Watching Daddy close the garage.

We only made it to the third house down the street.  Many of our neighbors were outside enjoying the nice weather too so we stopped for a visit.

This is the fifth of six girls born in on our street in a matter of seven months.

What can we say, there's just something in the water I suppose.

I'm definitely going to miss our neighborhood friends when we move.  I mean who's going to call me when they need an egg?  Or call me when there's a creepy car driving real slowly past our houses?  Or eat pizza together on a Friday night?...

I hope we have just as great of neighbors in Fairhope.

We never did end up making it to the High Place.

So that, in a nutshell, was our day.  Nothing too exciting.  But it's life.
 And life is very exciting.

A Party to Remember

We celebrated little buddy's 3 year old birthday party at the McWane Science Center on Saturday morning.  We had a blast!  It was the perfect place for a toddler party and the best part was the fact I didn't do anything.  There's a party hostess, they provide the cake, paper products, juice boxes, ice cream, and goldfish all for you.  Just the way I like it.  Don't get me wrong, I like planning and decorating most of the time but this, this was glorious! :)

The only thing I regret is not pulling out our video camera when they began to sing the birthday song.  In true Isaac fashion it was hilarious.  As soon as the party hostess placed the cake in front of him, the lights were turned off, and Isaac immediately froze, staring into the burning candles with a look that crossed between embarrassment and terror.  There was immediate laughter.

Thankfully his best buddy was sitting right next to him and offered to help blow out the candles.  Isaac was too frozen to even attempt it.

That's what best buds are for anyway.  To help us in our time of need.

It was a small affair with some cousins, church, and neighborhood friends.  And the kids had no complaints of eating cake at ten in the morning.  Nor did their parents.

We tried for a mommy/daddy pic with our boy but he refused to look at the camera.

We tried anyway.

After the party we explored the McWane Center a bit and Isaac settled on the water table.  He stayed there until lunch.

It was a great party and the perfect way to celebrate our soon-to-be three year old.  Friday is the actual day.

We love this boy and couldn't imagine our lives without him!

And here's a look at birthdays past...

They grow too fast don't they.

Stuck Indoors

January is one of my least favorite months of the year.  I said "one of " because I did have one of the happiest moments of my life happen in January...my baby boy was born!  But why is it one of my least favorites?  Well I'll tell ya.  It's because it's cold, long, cloudy, comes after the excitement of Christmas, and it's cold.  Did I say cold already?
But to be fair, it hasn't been as cold as past winters thankfully.

All of this means a lot of time stuck indoors.

Thankfully this girl doesn't know the difference.

She's even starting to sit up on her own...mostly with the help of the comfty boppy still.  But sitting up nonetheless.

And yes, the brother is usually nearby making brother-like faces.

She's even been saying her Daddy's name lately...Dada

All while reaching for any toy she can find...

And learning silly faces from her brother...

And growing hair.
Sort of.

I haven't been much in the blogging mood lately and I think it's because taking pictures indoors is rather boring to me.  I can never seem to get good ones.

Oh, and if you're wondering if Isaac's hair looks better after his last haircut please wonder no more.
His hair has grown out a little and the huge chunk missing in the front has managed to look even more chunk-like.

I asked Isaac if he wanted to go back to Sports Clips anytime soon and he started shaking his head and making this face...

I told him the chunk missing wasn't that bad and that he could set a new haircut trend...

And he told me
You go to Sports Clips and get YOUR haircut and we'll see how you like it.

Okay.  Good point buddy.  Good point.

Don't worry Savannah.  Mommy won't take you to Sport Clips...

I'll force Daddy to take you to a real salon.

...that is once you start growing hair.

One good thing about this month is the fact that one little boy's THREE year old birthday is drawing near!  Say what!!?  My baby boy will be three?  How can this be!

We are having his birthday party a week early due to Steven's work schedule and I'll give you a hint on the theme this year.  Rocket ships and robots...
Stay tuned for birthday party blogging fun...and of course it will all be INDOORS.
